Avondale Respite Center: Building Partnerships and Preparing for Launch
The Avondale Respite Center had a successful Meet & Greet event on June 14th, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards launching their upcoming pilot program. The event brought together over 30 enthusiastic attendees, all eager to contribute to and support this important initiative.
The Meet & Greet event was a fantastic opportunity for the Avondale Respite Center team to connect with potential partners, stakeholders, and community members. The excitement and commitment in the room were palpable, and the positive energy has set a strong foundation for the project's future.
While the team is still in the process of securing a physical space for the center, they have exciting plans in motion. At the end of August, the team will travel to Cleveland to visit the Providence House, an established respite center. During this visit, they will tour two different spaces, engage with the Providence House leadership team, and gather valuable insights and recommendations on launching their own pilot program.
Miss Holly Jenkins, a key member of the team, has been working tirelessly over the past month to lay the groundwork for the Avondale Respite Center. She has secured a web domain for the future website, established a bank account, and initiated contact with realtors to find suitable rental space. Her efforts have been instrumental in moving the project forward.
In addition to these logistical preparations, the team met to begin developing their work plan for pre-pilot activities. They are actively refining this plan to ensure a smooth and successful launch. Over the next few months, the team will review candidates for their Board of Directors and make final selections. Team members are also diligently working on critical operational elements, including intake protocols, an operations handbook, and disaster plans.
The Avondale Respite Center is on an exciting path towards providing much-needed respite services to the community. With the dedication and hard work of the team, along with the support of partners and stakeholders, the center is well on its way to making a significant impact. Stay tuned for more updates as the team progresses towards the launch of their pilot program.
